8 kits kindled 5/6/14
These kids are 12.5% German/ Satin with sheen and should have excellent bodies. Henry is an excellent show rabbit and Alice produces nice, long bodies in her offspring with long stapled fiber. We beat the odds on this one again with the majority being REW but they are chocolate underneath. So far: 2 chocolate (bucks) 6 REW (2 does, 4 bucks) These kits are developing phenomenal bodies! If you are looking for a show Satin Angora these guys may be for you. A few of the REW are promising very long fiber length and very intense sheen as well. |

Alice x Logan
Kindled 12/11/13
3 black, 3 REW, 1 tortoiseshell -1 REW stillborn -1 black lost day 2 This is an F1 cross German/Satin litter with a touch of French. Alice is a backcross with sheen so these kits are 61% German sheen carriers. Both parents are good wool producers and Logan has exceptional color. Pictured to the right at 24 hours old 2.5 weeks - we have one black and one REW with Satin personalities and everybody else is much more mellow. The friendlier black has very poofy face hair so maybe signs of good furnishings. The torte has no tail to speak of and is loosing part of one ear from where mom bit as a newborn
6 days - colors coming out
5 days - the torte is darkening up and surviving having it's tail chewed off and ear chomped. This torte has quite a bit less dark smut than Dorothy's litter. One black looks like it might have a mustache and white toenails but the other has strong color.
4 days - looking fat and happy!

Dorothy x Rojon
Kindled 12/14/13
Yet another F1 German/Satin cross. Dorothy did an amazing job for her first litter. She kindled 5 kits no nonsense. This is a 50% cross of a fawn and a torte so all are ee. 1 torte, 2 REW, 2 fawn - 2 REW deceased 2 weeks old - the smutty fawn in the lower right looks just like dad. It is nice to see that dad does carry for true, clean orange as seen in our keeper in the upper left.
3 days old - surprise! one of the tortes is a smutty fawn
1 day - One torte is looking VERY dark while the other has quite a bit of smut but is very light and the fawn is coloring up nicely with no apparent smut (upper right)

1 black, 1 REW, 1 chocolate chinchilla - Lost the black day 3 This is an F1 cross German/Satin litter with a touch of French - 47% German. Summer has very good production and depth of color. Man, this REW is so fluffy and big, I can't wait to see how these two turn out
4 days old - chocolate starting to look a bit more chinchilla
3 days - inner ears of the chocolate are starting to come in white but still hard to tell if he/she will be agouti or chinchilla

Huckleberry Rabbitry's Rumpous
100% German -a B- cc D- -e Proven buck Rumpous is a very loving boy. He is small for a German but has a lot of super friendly personality. Rumpous produces just under 300 g of fiber every 90 days. The fiber is fine and crimpy and a real dream to work with. Rumpous requires a semi-special home. He does not grow very much hair on the back of his feet which makes living in wire bottom cages uncomfortable and dangerous for his health. We have had a good response too litter box training so he would be a great house rabbit. He can live on a wire bottom cage if there is ample flat surfaces for him to rest on. Beautiful rabbit but our breeding plans are moving on. Sire: Huckleberry Rabbitry's Ribeye Dam: Huckleberry Rabbity's Lager |
